We specialise in Line Marking, colour coating and all-around maintenance of synthetic sports surfaces from artificial sports turf to hard courts and playgrounds.

Our Story

The company was established in early 2012 by Jon Lawson.
Jon started his career as a Sports surface groundsman for Leicestershire Education Grounds Services, working his way up to the role of Contracts Manager of Grounds Maintenance. He then went on to become the Senior sales manager at one of the world’s leading line marking, paint and machine manufacturers and was part of the development team for the only Laser Guided Line Marking Machine on the market.

Jon had always had an ambition to start his own company. In 2011 an opportunity opened up in the industry, with the development and growth of the installation of artificial sports surfaces at schools, leisure centres and sports clubs. With his background in the grounds maintenance industry and his knowledge of the Line Marking Industry, he decided to open a business offering Line Marking as a service.

Jon ran the company himself during 2012 and with the growth and success of the business was able to employ his daughter (Jodi) in early 2013 starting as the administrator and book keeper, going on to run operations and is now back in our office as the financial manager.  

Since then the company has gone on to employ Jon’s daughter-in-Law (Sara) as our administrator and manager of marketing and social Media.
Jon’s Son (Thomas) is now working in the operations team with our other dedicated staff members.

With the company’s growth we have been able to extend our services to include power washing, power sweeping and Colour Coating for hard surfaces, along with the maintenance of artificial sports turf.
We have seen a huge rise in the installation of Synthetic sports pitches over the last 10 years of working within the Industry.
In 2019 we established a second business under the Sports And Courts Group dedicated solely to the maintenance and restoration of artificial sports turf for customers needing regular maintenance on these surfaces.
